The Library Nicknamed 'Matilda' in my younger years the name has stuck into my adolescence and probably isn't likely to go away anytime soon, not that I'm bothered as I do still live up to the name. I really do enjoy reading, but over the last few years my interests have swerved towards more of a researching route. Especially concerning the ongoing literacy crisis we appear to be facing. I'm genuinely really interested in the way children read and why some children struggle being a child who had to be taken out of class for 1:1 reading lessons from Year 1 to about Year 4. The help I received with this was so beneficial but K now some people didn't get the same treatment or help I did. I'm always interested in finding new ways to get children and adults into reading, and how our relationship with books and physical media has been impacted by technology. |
